Pattern Making

I’ve been working with the photographs of my archive of memory objects & have been playing with repetition in order to represent the repetitious nature of adding to a collection. These designs from a distance just look like a pattern, but when you take a closer look you will be able to see what the images are actually of- this concept fits with the idea of a collection, as when you see a large selection of objects gathered together you get a very different view of what it means to when you take a closer look at each individual item, and can see the traces of the past and other elements imbued upon them, and the meaning is altered- it can go from being impersonal to very personal.
